Algae Valor

Algae Valor is a project by  Zeefier, BlueBlocks, Ghent University, The Seaweed Company Green Turtle Limited, Spaak Circular Solutions and North Sea Farmers.

When processing seaweed into a biostimulant (soil conditioner), a residual product is left behind.
During Algae Valor, a consortium is developing new processing solutions, turning the residue stream into a stable input stream of dyes for textiles and the bio building material Seawood.
It involves 100 tonnes of (dry) seaweed residues per year.

The project will run from 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2025.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.

Zeewier   Seeder

ZeewierSEEDEER is a project of  Boeg B.V. Constructiewerken, C.I.V. Den Oever U.A., Hortimare, The Seaweed Company and North Sea Farmers.

The ZeewierSEEDER project is working on optimising large-scale sowing of seaweed nets, which can be done on a smaller and more controllable scale.

A good way for gathering new information to make the seeding method for cultivating offshore seaweed more efficient and reliable.

This project was made possible with support from the province of South Holland.

Ammon

AMMON (Autonomous Monitoring for Multi-use On the North Sea) is  executed by a consortium of North Sea Farmers, Lobster Robotics, Aqitec, Oceans of Energy, Agora Solutions, and Water Insight.

The project aims to significantly reduce vessel movements for monitoring purposes, focusing on reducing vessel costs and emissions and improving safety by at least 50 per cent.

It will focus on developing a revolutionary monitoring service for offshore multi-use. This service will specifically support the deployment of offshore seaweed cultivation and offshore solar while leveraging innovative technologies like inspection drones, monitoring buoys, and high-tech inspection services based on satellite imagery.

AMMON is supported by Kansen for West, and ‘Co-funded by the European Union’.
