Webinar Invite – Seaweed as a Game-Changer in Bio-based Materials Are you exploring innovative, sust

2025-05-13 - 10:00 CEST (UTC+2) (Online)

Join us for an exclusive online webinar showcasing the untapped potential of seaweed as a novel bio-based material. Seaweed is already considered a very sustainable resource β€” but what if we could go a step further?

As part of the AlgaeVALOR Interreg-project, we explored how side streams from existing seaweed supply chains could be transformed into valuable applications in the building and textile industries. The goal: to make seaweed-based materials more circular and resource-efficient and potentially more scalable.

AlgaeVALOR is a collaboration between leading innovators and researchers in the seaweed sector, including: Zeefier, SeaWood Materials, Algaia, Spaak CS, The Seaweed Company, University of Gent, North Sea Farmers and Blue Cluster

The webinar session is especially relevant for companies in construction/utility building industry or textile/clothing industry. If you're a designer, architects, policymaker then you're also welcome of course.

What to expect:

  • Key insights from the AlgaeVALOR Interreg-project: using seaweed side-streams for sustainable product solutions in textile and building material.
  • Real-life applications from partners:
    • SeaWood Materials (building materials)
    • Zeefier (textile dyes)
Discussion on:
  • What’s possible today with these applications?
  • Scaling potential and timeline of these applications?
  • How you can start using these solutions in your business and projects?
