12/05/2025 - We’re excited to welcome Elisabeth Rompa Sinke (MA) to the North Sea Farmers team as our new Business Development Lead and main contact for all members. Elisabeth brings over 20 years of experience in international business development, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation. Before joining us, she worked at EIT InnoEnergy, where she helped innovative cleantech companies grow and scale across Europe. In her role as Head of Business Development, she built strategic partnerships and led initiatives aimed at accelerating the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

07/05/2025 - Last week we attended ChangeNOW in Paris - the world's largest innovation event on sustainability and impact. Together with partners from our network, we showcased how seaweed can contribute to a more sustainable future. Visitors were introduced to tangible applications of seaweed: from food to packaging to building materials.

AlgaeVALOR: Transforming seaweed side streams into new opportunities

Vincent Doumeizel, Founder of the Global Seaweed Coalition, calls it "the greatest untapped resource on the planet". The versatility of seaweed allows for applications ranging from biostimulants and food ingredients to building materials and proteins. Yet much of the residual biomass from these extraction processes remains untapped.

Welcome Ewoud, our new Offshore Test Site Manager!

17/01/2025 - We’re pleased to welcome Ewoud Visser, who joined our team in January. With 30 years of experience in dredging and offshore operations, Ewoud brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Alongside this role, he continues his work at Doggerland Offshore, where he works as a marine- and offshore troubleshooter. Known as a ‘handyman at sea,’ Ewoud has successfully managed complex offshore projects, including 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 #1 where he coordinated the installation of the world’s first offshore seaweed farm within a wind farm. Ewoud also provides contracting and consultancy services to address a variety of challenges in demanding marine environments.
